Certified Instructor
I grew up as a competitive swimmer and fell in love with the water early in life. But as I got older, I became aware of a painful reality: Black Americans drown at disproportionately higher rates than any other group — not because of ability, but because of access, opportunity, and representation.
That awareness became my purpose. I became a certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor so I could be part of the solution — showing up in my community as a Black swim instructor and making the water feel like a place where everyone belongs.
Whether I'm working with a toddler taking their first splash or an adult who's been afraid of the water their whole life, my goal is the same: build real confidence, teach real skills, and change what my students believe is possible for themselves.

How I Teach
Black children are significantly more likely to drown than their peers. That statistic is personal to me. Every lesson I teach is a direct response to that inequity — one swimmer at a time.
Many of my students have never had a Black swim instructor. Seeing someone who looks like them in the water changes what they believe is possible for themselves.
I meet every student where they are — no pressure, no judgment. Progress happens when students feel safe, seen, and supported. That environment is something I build intentionally.
Every lesson is a step toward safety, confidence, and belonging in the water. Book yours today.
